FIELD: metallurgy; methods of production of the metallic iron.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to metallurgy, in particular, to production of a metallic iron. The method presents different versions of relining of the reduction furnace heath with a movable hearth, namely: on the sliding heath before feeding the admixture containing the carbon reducer and iron oxides, lay a protective layer material forming a renewable protective layer, and the metallic iron produce simultaneously with the renewal of a part or the whole wearing in operation renewable layer. In one version the surface-renewal of the renewable protective layer perform by laying or by feeding of the protective material layer on the surfaces of the worn out renewable protective layer, and in other one - conduct feeding of a coolant onto the renewable protective layer, which has been worn out during operation, for solidification of the melted iron remaining on the surface of the renewable protective layer, and remove the renewable protective layer together with the rests of the iron. The invention allows to remove or repair easily the heath surface even in the case, when the metallic iron dust penetrates into the heath surface or when the heath surface is worn out due to infiltration of the furnace slag and erosion, and also allows to increase the coefficient of availability and repairability of the furnace heath at the long-time continuous operation.
