FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: agglomerate containing titanium oxide for production of granulated metallic iron contains a source of iron, including at least 5 of mass fraction but less than 10 of mass fraction of titanium oxide per equivalent contents of TiO2, and carbon reductant. At that the agglomerate has a chemical composition that meets the conditions defined by the following formulas (1)-(3): [CaO]/[SiO2]= 0.6-1.2 (1), [Al2O3]/[SiO2]=0.3-1.0 (2), [TiO2]/([CaO]+[SiO2]+[MgO]+[Al2O3])<0.45 (3). Each of [CaO], [SiO2], [Al2O3], [TiO2] and [MgO] represents content (wt % on a dry basis) of each component in the agglomerate. At that, [TiO2] represents equivalent content of TiO2, obtained as a result of transformation of all states of titanium oxide in the agglomerate into the state of TiO2, and [CaO] represents the content, obtained as a result of transformation of all states of calcium in the agglomerate into the state of CaO.

EFFECT: production at a relatively low temperature of heating of high-quality granular metallic iron, having a particle size for suitable for transportation.
