FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of forming wear-resistant coating on working surface of sliding supports, for instance, on surfaces of hydrostatic bearings operating in liquids with mechanical admixtures. Proposed method comes to forming ring space one walls of which is surface of blank of sliding support housing, filling of said space with powder of wear-resistant material, impregnating said powder with metal-binder melt and subsequent machining of said layer. Ring space is formed by fitting cylindrical ceramic insert in blank of housing which is removed after application of coating. Outer surface of ceramic insert is provided with embossing reverse of that to be formed on coated surface, and centering projections providing preset minimum radial clearance between insert and coated surface.
EFFECT: provision of complex embossed wear-resistant coating on working surfaces of hydrostatic bearings.
