FIELD: optionally production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to liquid polysulfide polymer production process via mixing chlorine-containing monomers: di(β-chloroethyl)formal and 1,2,2-trichloropropane taken at molar ratio between 0.99:0.01 and 0.96:0.04 with sodium hydrosulfide and sulfur at temperature 70-75°C and vigorous stirring for 1.0-1.5 h. Subsequent interaction of reaction mixture components is effected at 85-97°C. Sodium hydrosulfide and sulfur are used at molar ratio 3.2:0.5 to 3.5:1.5 per 1 mole chlorine-containing monomers. Interaction of reaction mixture components is conducted for 3-4 h in presence of a quaternary ammonium halide or mixture thereof in amount 0.5-1.0% of the mass of monomers.
EFFECT: decreased process time, improved environmental safety, and reduced labor consumption.
