APPARATUS FOR REMOVING FROM WIRE SCALE AND OXIDE FILMS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B21B45/04

Abstract RU 2275979 C1

FIELD: drawing production, possibly processes of fine descaling of rolled rods.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for removing scale and oxide films from wire with use of ferromagnetic abrasive powders includes working chamber, auger with drive unit, shut off valve, electromagnet and vibration exciter. According to invention truncated shut-off valve is arranged over opening of working chamber for removing waste abrasive powder and it is mounted with possibility of horizontal movements together with vibration exciter relative to said opening for removing waste powder. Taper angle of shut-off valve is equal to or it is less than inner friction angle or angle of rest of powder. Electromagnet is in the form of cone solenoid mounted at outer side of working chamber with possibility of horizontal movements. Invention provides possibility for performing high quality cleaning of wire at controlling its cleaning parameters depending upon diameter of wire and it motion speed.
