FIELD: processes for removing scale from rod with use of abrasive powders.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing, working chamber, auger, drive unit of auger, electromagnets and ultrasound oscillation vibrator, for example magnetostrictive one. Vibrator is placed outside working chamber, its lengthwise axis is parallel to horizontal axis of working chamber. Vibrator is rigidly mounted in housing in lengthwise oscillation unit. Concentrator of vibrator is rigidly joined with wave-guide being in the form of stem. In working chamber in place of maximum amplitude of lengthwise oscillations sleeve is arranged; said sleeve is rigidly joined with free end of wave-guide in place of maximum amplitude of lengthwise oscillations. Spacing between horizontal axes of vibrator and working chamber is equal to ½ of length of ultrasound wave. Lengthwise oscillations of sleeve containing abrasive powder having frequency f and amplitude a are related to motion speed v of rolled rod through working chamber by relation: v < 2πaf.

EFFECT: improved stability of generated oscillations, elimination of rod jamming in duct where it moves.
