FIELD: machine engineering, namely process for continuous applying of metallic coating onto metal sheets, possibly at making bimetallic strips and then producing sliding bearings of such strip.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding strip of base metal in solid state and drawing it; feeding layer of cladding melt metal to inlet of mold due to positively acting upon melt by means of piston moved at rate calculated according to its relation from skin thickness of cladding layer; joining crystallized skin of cladding layer with base metal strip in mold; reducing bimetallic strip between rolling rolls and simultaneously joining cladding layer skin formed on base metal strip with skin formed on walls of mold by deforming between rolling rolls.
EFFECT: lowered power parameters of process, increased strength of tooling, enhanced efficiency of process, improved quality and uniformity of material due elimination of porosity, shrinkage and other flaws of applied layer, improved adhesion joining of metal coating and sheet metal.
