FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous casting of bimetallic strip. Strip of base metal in solid state and liquid metal of clad layer are fed into crystallizer. At the outlet of the crystallizer, the clad layer is connected to the base metal strip when the clad layer of the clad layer converts to the base metal band, simultaneous reduction and drawing of bimetallic strip by movable profiled walls of detachable crystallizer. Compression of bimetallic strip with strikers is performed with degree of deformation providing mutual displacement of base strip and clad layer or its absence and occurrence of compressive stresses in area of deformation of bimetallic strip. Tension of the base metal strip is created as it passes through the molten metal of the clad layer, wherein the speed v of its passage through the liquid metal of the clad layer is selected from expression 10 < H/v < 20.
EFFECT: higher quality of bimetallic strips due to obtaining a given ratio of thicknesses of its layers and reduced variability of plating layers.
