FIELD: electrical engineering; synchronous motor control devices.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method and device for synchronizing electric motor designed to reduce probability of severe accidents in case of failure of motor synchronization or fall out of synchronism depend on measurements of mechanical stresses in parts fastening motor frame to base proportional to motor braking torque with aid of strain-gage relay that sends signal for disconnecting synchronous-motor field circuit in response to rise of braking torque above threshold value followed by re-synchronization.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability of synchronizing motors incorporating provision for current compounding in exciter.
