FIELD: mining, particularly underground mineral mining, for instance for slate coal deposit development.
SUBSTANCE: method involves selectively excavating mineral with several cuts in proximity to excavated space; controlling mine roof and filling excavated space with cut gob interlayer. Roof control is carried out by erecting rock supports in excavated space in staggered order. First of all supports are created of gob interlayers developed during the first cut with support displacement towards excavated space for distance equal to half of cut width. Then supports are created during the second cut in proximity of previous supports. Layer of cut gob obtained from the next cut operation is laid on the supports so that distance between the supports in mining face length direction is equal to cut width. Then support forming and displacement operations, which result in support forming of three cuts and support advancing for distance equal to half of cut width are repeated. Support widths are equal to double cut width. Distance between the supports is equal to one cut width. After support erection pneumatic cylinders are installed on the supports. The pneumatic cylinders are filled with compressed air so that pneumatic cylinders abut mine roof and supports. Timber supports having heights exceeding that of pneumatic cylinder in collapsed state are laid on the supports. Then after mine roof lowering pneumatic cylinders are removed from the supports in points or roof contact with supports.
EFFECT: reduced mineral losses and increased roof control efficiency.
