FIELD: mining, particularly methods of underground mining.

SUBSTANCE: method involves performing selectively excavating mineral in several cuts performed close to goaf space; controlling goaf space roof by forming rock supports in goaf space by rock cutting, wherein the first rock supports are formed of gob obtained by the first cut performing and then rock supports are created of rock obtained by the second cut; laying gob layer on rock supports to create free space between rock supports along breakage face length, wherein the gob is obtained during following excavation performing; arranging pneumatic cylinders on rock supports; supplying compressed aid in the pneumatic cylinders to expand the cylinders between the roof and the rock supports; laying timber supports on rock supports from cylinder sides, wherein timber support heights exceed collapsed pneumatic cylinder heights; taking pneumatic cylinders from rock supports in contact points between roof and timber supports. Rock support width is equal to double cut width. Distance between the rock supports is equal to one cut width. Rock support heights are determined from mathematical equation, which includes summary thickness of gob layers in formation, degree of rock fragmentation, rock support lengths and spacing between the rock supports along breakage face length.

EFFECT: reduced mineral losses and increased roof control efficiency.
