FIELD: devices feeding dc power-operated loads such as tools.
SUBSTANCE: proposed power supply feeds power-driven tool through adapter when power switch of tool is in ON-position and also charges storage battery used as alternative power supply when power-driven tool is inoperative. In order to prevent in-rush current through switch inserted between circuit of switchable power supply and storage battery occurring during initial moment of battery charge, mentioned switch opens when output voltage of switchable power supply exceeds supply voltage of storage battery. Battery charge starts upon reduction of output voltage of switchable power supply to level below battery voltage.
EFFECT: extended service life of device.
