FIELD: manufacture of handles, holders of cooking pieces, possibly used for making knives, forks and similar things.

SUBSTANCE: cooking piece includes metallic monolithic functional working part and holder with insert. Holder is in the form of box with flat slightly convex upper surface. Front wall of box adjacent to functional working part of cooking piece is thickened; its back end is open and tapered towards upper surface of box whose lateral sides are symmetrically convex and have arc-like ends at side of open end of box. Insert is monolithic and it has straight front end adjacent to thickened wall of box by its free stem. Insert is made of material with high friction coefficient and it is mounted in cavity of box. Lower surface of insert is provided with supports for hands in end zones and symmetrical convexity in its mean part. Relation of longitudinal length L1 of thickened front wall of box to its whole length L is in range 0.85 - 0.15. Stem of insert extends outside open end of box and is tapered equidistantly relative to it.

EFFECT: enhanced strength of holder, improved working characteristics such as balancing capability, comfortable holding in palm of user, simplified design, lowered cost for making cooking piece.
