FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves keeping to several stages for providing hemostatic agent. Dissolving hemostatic agent in aqueous solution and drying. Hemostatic agent is selected from a group containing chitosan salts, chitosan derivatives. Dental floss and dental ribbon are brought in contact with hemostatic agent in fluid state. The hemostatic agent is dried on the dental floss or dental ribbon. Higher friction coefficient to fingers facilitates effective operation with dental floss. When wrapped about finger, the floss having chitosan coating is considerably less susceptible to sliding than it happens to a conventional floss (impregnated with hemostatic agent).
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in use; reduced floss consumption rate; improved hemostatic agent delivery to gingiva; reduced risk of allergic responses.
