FIELD: vacuum engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to closing working apertures of vacuum devices. According to invention, in proposed method including feeding and taking out of long-length articles from chamber through sealing units with use of elastic sealing material, said sealing material is pressure-fed into inlet and outlet sealing unit, as they wear, to provide sealed transportation of long-length article through vacuum chamber with removal of waste sealing material from surface of long-length article, from vacuum chamber and spaces between sealing units, with replenishment of sealing material as need be. Device containing inlet and outlet sealing units in which elastic sealing material is used, and articles transporting devices are furnished with mechanisms delivering sealing material into sealing units under pressure providing sealed transportation of long-length article, and device for removing sealing material from surface of long-length article, from vacuum chamber and spaces between sealing units. Mechanism delivering sealing material is made with possibility of replenishment of material in wear and consumption.
EFFECT: possibility of transportation of long-length articles of different cross-section, increased service life of equipment.
