FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns method and facility of surface treatment of metallic strip and can be used in metallurgical production. Treatment of metallic strip is implemented by electroarc discharges at guiding shunt rollers, allowing electromagnetic system of travelling magnetic field, by means of which it is managed movement of cathode spots by surface of metallic strip. For removing of adverse influence of own magnetic fields at shunting from cathode spots, shunt is implemented directly under cathode spot from backside of metallic strip in the area of metallic strip contact with shunting roller. In the area of contact it is implemented blast cooling of metallic strip by shunting roller, outfitted by cooling system.
EFFECT: cost saving, increase in productivity and reduction of undesirable metal heating.
