FIELD: mining, particularly underground development of flat-laying and inclined coal beds in cold regions, for instance in permafrost zones.
SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting upper formation by means of production face; cutting slots along production face so that distance between the slots is selected to provide safe roof caving during stopped excavation of underlying layer. The slots are cut as separate depressions. Formed depressions are filled with liquid or solutions.
EFFECT: increased safety of formation development.
