FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: a child should be placed in front of a testing table that represents the rows with the set of optotypes gradually decreasing in size from the top downwards at marked acuity for corresponding row. One should test the acuity of right-hand eye at first, then - left-hand eye due to pointing at a testing element of an optotype and receiving the answer from a child. Before testing a child is demonstrated the table from the distance of about 30-40 cm, then - from the distance of 2.5 m. The table consists of two sheets of A4 format each. The first sheet contains three rows of car-conventionalized optotypes with two testing elements - wheels as closed or broken ring at different direction of the rupture. The second sheet contains seven rows of the same optotypes. The ratio between the size of testing element and an optotype in the table corresponds to 1:5. The innovation enables to widen functional possibilities.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of acuity testing.
