FIELD: textile industry, in particular, process for stapling of textile fibers.
SUBSTANCE: method involves the steps of combing fiber, forming sliver therefrom; feeding sliver to processing zone and defibrating with adjustable combing parameters, with non-fibrous contaminants being partly removed from fibers during defibration procedure; after defibration procedure, providing additional shortening and thinning of fiber using carding procedure.
EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to complete cleaning of short-staple flax fiber, and reduced length and thickness thereof.
