FIELD: road building materials.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises mixing molten bitumen and sulfur on heating (140-180°C), said molten bitumen being preliminarily supplemented by 1-5% of styrene-dicyclopentadiene-indene resin or alkadiene-styrene-dicyclopentadiene-indene resin and 1-5% of high-molecule weight hydrocarbons: α-olefin fraction C20-C26 with melting point 38-40°C and/or industrial oil with viscosity 5-50 mm2/sec (50°C) and stirred for 0.5 h, after which sulfur is added portionwise at sulfur-to-bitumen weight ratio (10-50):(90-50) and mixture is stirred for further 2 h.
EFFECT: improved physico-mechanical characteristics (adhesion, softening temperature, and frost resistance) of binder.
