FIELD: surge protection of power-network and substation electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: proposed protective device designed for protecting electrical equipment
against high-frequency voltage surges (primarily switching surges) has double-unit coaxial resistor whose internal unit is made of high-conductivity non-ferromagnetic material and external one, of high-resistivity ferromagnetic material (ρ > 1 Ohm-m); it also has additional resistor connected in parallel with coaxial-resistor internal unit. Functioning as the latter is usually phase conductor. Coaxial-resistor external unit is made of set of toroidal cores fitted onto conductor. Insulating gaskets are placed between ferrite cores.
EFFECT: enhanced protective efficiency without enhancing size and mass of device.
