FIELD: metallurgy; methods of reducing annealing of oxidized iron ores and selective extraction of alloying elements from them, for example, extraction of nickel.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on effect of temperature on chemical affinity of nickel and iron for oxygen; proposed method includes stage-by-stage reduction of them at temperature interval of 1450-1600°C in closed reactor. Plant proposed for realization of this method includes reactor with unit for preliminary reduction of oxide material provided with melting-reducing plasmotrons; thermocouples are arranged vertically relative to reactor; additional receiver is arranged in its lower end portion; said receiver has holes for overflow of metal from reactor.
EFFECT: increased degree of reduction of metal; increased productivity of process; reduced power requirements; reduction of harmful effect on surrounding medium.
