FIELD: direct production of iron-carbon alloys by means of plasma technology.
SUBSTANCE: proposed unit has reactor made in form of detachable pressurized vessel. Upper stationary part of reactor is secured on bedplate and lower part is connected with bedplate by means of locking mechanisms through seals. Bedplate is mounted in horizontal plane above rated level of charge column. Mounted at level of charge column in area of angles of inner perimeter of reactor cross-section are auxiliary plasmotrons whose axes lie at angle relative to each other in plane parallel to reactor wall and vertex of angle is directed downward for successive connection of each pair of plasmotrons. Main plasmotrons are mounted on two opposite sides of receiver; longitudinal axes of each pair of opposite plasmotrons lie in one plane with angle directed towards surface of melt. Operating conditions of this unit are improved due to possibility of replacing part of reactor with defective lining by reserve one.
EFFECT: enhanced protection of internal surface of reactor against "lamination".
