FIELD: plasma engineering, namely, engineering of electric discharge devices with liquid electrode, possible use in plasma chemistry, in particular, as a source of plasma stream in plasma-chemical reactor.
SUBSTANCE: plasmatron with liquid electrolytic cathode contains flowing electrolytic tub, provided with metallic lid with aperture, and metallic anode. Anode is made in form of hollow horizontal rod with ends bent upwardly at angle within limits 30-60° and is held on the internal side of the lid oppositely to aperture, so that distance between anode and current feed of electrolytic tub is within limits 15-20 millimeters. Branch pipes of anode for feeding and draining cooling liquid are let outwards through the lid. Portions of anode branch pipes positioned below the lid are covered with moisture-absorbing thermo-resistant material. Metallic lid is made water-cooled. On internal side a plate made of porous fire-resistant material, of similar dimensions, with elongated slit in the middle, is attached to the lid. Branch pipes of anode are positioned in the slit of the plate. A ring of thermo-resistant dielectric material is attached to metallic lid from above. The ring is engaged with walls of electrolytic tub so that between wall of tub on one side and plate of porous fire-resistant material and metallic lid on other side, a side gap is formed 1-2 centimeters wide. Electrolytic tub is filled with electrolyte so that level of electrolyte is 2-5 millimeters lower than the anode.
EFFECT: increased temperature of plasma stream.
