FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed timing gear contains valve common for intake and exhaust, intake and exhaust channels accommodating gates automatically opening under action of pressure differential. Axes of gates are displaced relative to their axes of symmetry, and counterweights are provided on gates from side of displacement. Gates are designed for separating intake and exhaust processes, and they form three isolated spaces, namely, intake channels space, exhaust channel space and overvalve space. At intake stroke common valve and intake channel gate open simultaneously (exhaust channel gate being closed) and intake of air (or fuel mixture) takes place. At exhaust stroke the same valve and gate of exhaust channel open (intake channel gate being closed) and exhaust of waste gases takes place. Gates are closed by pull-back springs.
EFFECT: decreased unbalance of inertia forces at movement of gates, reduced vibration and wear.
