FIELD: food-processing industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves spraying pathogen inhibiting preparation when food product is to be cut into slices by means of slicing unit, said preparation being sprayed using two nozzles. One of nozzles is positioned opposite shear surface on slice of food product and faces said surface. Other nozzle is positioned laterally of shear surface and faces lateral side of slice of food product and shear surface on slice of food product.
EFFECT: provision for making food product safe for consumption after prolonged storage at normal temperature in refrigerator.
