FIELD: biotechnology; microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: following is presented: a method of identifying Listeria monocytogenes strains, as well as differentiating virulent Listeria monocytogenes strains from avirulent strains and other Listeria spp. by identifying the key factors of InlA and InlB invasion as a result of a combination of two sequential actions: growing microorganisms in a liquid nutrient medium, performing an ELISA analysis using polyclonal monospecific antibodies against InlA and InlB. A corresponding test system for implementing of the method is also presented.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to differentiate virulent L. monocytogenes strains from avirulent strains and can be used to confirm the presence of virulent potential of L. monocytogenes strains isolated from contaminated food and clinical samples.
