METHOD FOR ASSAY OF SUGAR INHIBITORY CAPACITY DEGREE ON ADHESION PROCESS OF CHOLERA VIBRIO Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC C12Q1/04 C12R1/63

Abstract RU 2288274 C1

FIELD: medicinal microbiology.

SUBSTANCE: adhesion of cholera vibrio is carried out in the presence of carbohydrates as inhibitors that interact with lectin receptors of cholera vibrio and inhibit their adhesive properties. Method involves preparing 1% carbohydrate solution in 1 ml of 1 billion part of cholera vibrio suspension that are incubated at temperature 37°C for 30-40 min in wet chamber followed by preparing preparation for microscopic investigation. The degree of inhibitory capacity of sugars on adhesion process in the analyzed culture of cholera vibrio is determined by the adhesion inhibition scale: weak inhibition index, in limits 0.36-0.9; middle inhibition index, 0.176-0.35, and strong inhibition index, 0.01-0.175. Using the proposed method provides enhancing biotechnological possibilities of assay. Invention can be used for characterization of pathogenicity of cholera vibrio.

EFFECT: improved assay method.
