FIELD: petrochemical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is directed on synthesis of dicyclopentadiene used in manufacture of ethylene-propylene-diene rubbers, resins, polymers, etylidenenorbornene, pesticides, modified vegetable oils, and antiknock fuels. For that, C5-hydrocarbon fraction is subjected to thermal dimerization at 20-55°C followed by fractionation on two distillation columns. From the first distillation column with still temperature 70-95°C and having no reflux, light hydrocarbons are withdrawn in the form of distillate. Further, reaction mixture is routed to the second, vacuum degassing column, wherein residual amounts of C5-C6-hydrocarbons are produced at still temperature 35-115°C and pressure 500-620 mm Hg.
EFFECT: simplified process, reduced power consumption, improved workability and productivity of process.
