FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out duplex scanning with colored Doppler mapping in zone of central retinal vein and central retinal artery in the bulk of optic nerve at a distance of 0.75-6 mm from retina surface. Peak systolic speed and final diastolic speed, resistance index, pulse index, availability of venous blood circulation type in central retinal vein projection in location point are determined. Peak systolic speed and final diastolic speed falling by 50% and more with respect to normal value, resistance index being equal to or greater than 0.8, pulse index being equal to or greater than 1.75 and no venous blood circulation type in central retinal vein projection being available in location point, radial optical neurotomy is considered to be indicated.
EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
