SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of indanylidene compound of the formula (I): wherein each among R1-R4 and independently of one another means hydrogen atom, (C1-C20)-alkyl or (C5-C10)-cycloalkyl under condition that two substitutes at adjacent carbon atoms can mean in common the substituted (C1-C4)-alkylene group, and they mean independently of one another (C1-C20)-alkyl wherein at least one methylene group can be substituted with oxygen atom, (C3-C20)-alkenyl, (C3-C20)-alkynyl or the group S wherein S can represent silane, oligosiloxane or polysiloxane group; each among R5-R8 means independently of one another hydrogen atom, (C1-C20)-alkyl or (C5-C10)-cycloalkyl or (C1-C20)-alkoxy-group, (C5-C20)-cycloalkoxy-, hydroxy-, acetoxy-, acetamino-group, carboxyl, carbalkoxy-group or carbamoyl and also two substitutes from R5 to R8 at adjacent C-atoms can form in common 5-7-membred ring that can comprise up to 3 heteroatoms, in particular, oxygen and nitrogen atoms while ring atoms can be substituted with oxygen atom bound with a double bond (keto-group) by exocyclic joint. Also, in case of alkoxy-group and independently of one another they can mean (C5-C20)-alkyl wherein at least one methylene group can be substituted with oxygen atom, (C3-C20)-alkenyl, (C3-C20)-alkynyl or the group S wherein S can mean silane, oligosiloxane or polysiloxane group; X means cyano-group; n = 1 or 0; when n = 1 then R9-R11 can mean hydrogen atom, (C1-C20)-alkyl or (C5-C10)-cycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl. Also, two substitutes from R9 to R11 in common with β-atoms can form 3-7-membered ring that can comprise up to 3 heteroatoms, in particular, oxygen or nitrogen atom. Also, when n = 0 then R9 and R10 in common with β-atom mean aryl or heteroaryl radical. Indicated compounds of the formula (I) are synthesized by the Knoevenagel condensation of compound of the formula (II): with compound of the formula (III): wherein values R1-R8, R9-R11 and X are given above. Also, the invention relates to a cosmetic composition used in skin and hair protection and comprising indanylidene compound of the formula (I), using indanylidene compound of the formula (I) as UV-absorbers in combination with UV-absorbers of methoxycinnamate derivatives type of dibenzoylmethane derivatives type used in photosensitization of UV-absorbers of dibenzoylmethane and methoxycinnamate derivatives type as UV-absorbers in combination with one or some UV-A, UV-B and/or wide-band filters in separately or in mixture in a lipid phase and/or in an aqueous phase, for photosensitization of combinations of UV-absorbers if methoxycinnamate derivatives type with dibenzoylmethane derivatives type.
