FIELD: medical microbiology, diagnosis of diseases caused by gastro-enteritis parahemolytic vibria.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes application of Vibro parahaemoliticus KM 97 and of Vibro parahaemoliticus KM 184 as test strains, which are separately seeded in Martin broth with 3 % NaCl and placed in thermostat for 4 h, then 0.3 ml of each cultivated on test strain slurry is mixed with 4.5 ml of melted and cooled to 45°C 0.7 % Martin agar with 3 % NaCl and poured out as the second layer on plates of solidified 1.5 % Martin agar with 3 % NaCl in Petri dishes. After solidification agar is dried and drop of tested probe is placed in center of each dish and cultured at 37°C for 24-48 hours. Cultivated phages are differentiated. Namely: lysine presence on test strain KM 97 and KM 184 is correlated with bacteriophages of parahemolytic vibria of III, IV, V morphogroups, and lysis on KM 184 only is correlated with filamentous bacteriophages of I morphogroup.
EFFECT: simplified and dependable method for laboratory diagnosis.
