FIELD: restoring rollers of machines for billet continuous casting.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily heating barrel of rollers till temperature 200 - 250°C; surfacing roller at rate 20 - 30 m/h at electric current density 35 - 45 A/sq. mm; subjecting roller to heat treatment at temperature 500 - 550°C while soaking them for 2 - 4 h. Steel electrode is used as material for surfacing rollers. Said steel electrode has next chemical content, mass. % : carbon, 0.20 - 0.40; manganese, 0.30 -0.50; silicon, 0.30 -0.50; chrome, 12.0 -15.0; iron, the balance.
EFFECT: lowered consumption of rollers due to their improved strength.
