METHOD OF FEED OF MAIN AND ADDITIONAL FUEL TO DIESEL ENGINE AND DIESEL ENGINE FUEL-FEED SYSTEM (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC F02M43/00

Abstract RU 2292476 C1

FIELD: manufacture of multi-fuel internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes feed of main liquid fuel from main fuel tank to high-pressure fuel injection pump and feed of additional fuel to diesel engine intake manifold and to high-pressure main fuel pipe line. Then, portion of main fuel is formed in high-pressure main fuel pump which is fed to high-pressure main fuel pipe line and to injector. Working pressure of fuel required for opening the shut-off member of injector is built-up and portion of main fuel is injected into diesel engine cylinder, after which shut-off member of injector is closed and residual pressure of fuel is formed in high-pressure main fuel pipe line and in injector. Additional fuel is fed to fuel accumulator where pressure of additional fuel is increased and first portion of additional fuel is formed for subsequent feed to high-pressure main fuel pipe line after closing of injector shut-off member. Residual pressure in high-pressure main fuel pipe line is increased and second portion of additional fuel is formed; part of second portion of additional fuel is mixed with air and is fed to diesel engine intake manifold. Specification describes system realizing proposed method and second version of this method and system proposed for its realization.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and stability of fuel injection; improved mixing of fuel and air; complete combustion of fuel; increased power; enhanced economical efficiency; reduced exhaust of non-burnt combustion products into atmosphere.
