FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes rolling a strip or sheet (1) in a multi-stand rolling mill, removing the strip or sheet after a last rolling stand (2) in direction (F) of the rolling mill feed and cooling in a cooling device (3). The strip or sheet (1) immediately after passing through working rolls of the last rolling stand (2) is subjected to additional rapid cooling (4). Cooling of the strip or sheet (1) is performed, at least in part, during the last rolling stand (2) in the feed direction (F). Rapid cooling is performed by means of cooling medium applied to the strip or sheet (1) at the top and bottom, wherein with the volumetric flow rate of the cooling medium supplied to the strip or sheet (1) at least 120% of volume flow rate of cooling medium applied to the strip or sheet (1) from above. Cooling modes are scheduled.
EFFECT: achievement of preferred grain structure and high degree of flatness.
