SUBSTANCE: invention proposes the fungus strain Penicillium canescens VKPM F-912 no containing genes encoding endoglucanases that is a producer of endo-(1-4)-beta-xylanase. On media with beet pulp this strain is able to accumulate up to 88 U of activity of secreted endo-(1-4)-beta-xylanase and 0.13 U of cellulase activity, not above, in 1 ml of cultural fluid for 120-144 h of the fermentation process.
