FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves molding mandibular plaster model usable for producing rigid plastic base, which boundary and relief exactly repeats the old one. Wax occlusion roller is placed on the base and central jaw relation is determined under swallowing action control. Teeth are arranged in middle anatomical articulator repeating length and width of old prosthesis denture. The structure is tested in oral cavity and spatial modeling of external polished prosthesis base surface begins. To do it, plastic base is introduced into the oral cavity with 3-4 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick softened wax strip being glued all along the whole perimeter. Functional tests are carried out like swallowing saliva, maximum opening and closing mouth, moving cheeks and lips back and forth pressing them to the base; reaching left and right cheek with tongue tip; reaching incisive papilla and moving along the red border. Then, the external base surface is covered with thin wax layer over vestibular and lingual surface and perforated with probe. Next, the edge and external base surface both on vestibular and lingual side is covered with silicon mass and introduced into the oral cavity. Functional tests are repeated under chewing pressure of antagonist teeth. The internal base surface is covered with insulating laquer. The structure is plastered in cell. After having removed wax by boiling, the rigid plastic base and silicon imprint mass are removed. The plastic is packed in usual way and polymerized.
EFFECT: reduced risk of traumatic complications.
