FIELD: heat treatment processes, namely thermal fixation of piston rings in pack, possibly providing different distribution of radial pressure and elasticity at making slit round piston and sealing rings with parallel end surfaces.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes stationary flange, cylindrical threaded rod for axial tightening of pack of piston rings by means of nut, movable flange and spacing insert. Said insert includes base, two supporting plates of П-shaped profile. Base has groove formed in plane for mounting supporting plates. In said groove one side of supporting plates is mounted by means of bolts and nuts with possibility of moving plate one relative to other. Said base also has other groove for setting inclination angle of supporting plates with use of bolt and nut.
EFFECT: possibility for making piston rings with desired elasticity and radial pressure diagram, increased useful life period and improved operational reliability of sealing unit.
