FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to thermal treatment and may be used to produce split piston rings with non-parallel end surfaces. Rings are assembled in packet in pairs with displacement in respect to each other along inclined surfaces with diametrically opposite location of locks. Accessory for heat fixing of piston rings contains two spreader inserts, ends of which are installed in grooves of plates, which are installed at the bolt. Every insert represents spline with spreader plates that project in turns and perpendicularly to the spline along its whole length. Thickness of spreader plates is less than the height of rings in lock. Distances between alternating spreader plates are equal to the sum of ring heights in lock and its back. Method provides even heating and cooling of rings assembled into packet, and their buckling is prevented.
EFFECT: provision of even heating and cooling of rings assembled into packet, and exclusion of their buckling.
