FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves asking patient to open mouth. Physician identifies temporomandibular articulation with index finger of the left hand. The target point is determined by going 30 mm downward from the temporomandibular articulation along mandible branch. Then, the index finger is moved to this point. Needle is introduced into the middle of lateral pterygomandibular fold part and directed towards index finger tip as far as possible to reach bone surface. Anesthetic is injected at a dose of 0.5-0.8 ml. Next to it, buccal nerve anesthesia is carried out.
EFFECT: accelerated mandibular nerve anesthesia; reduced anesthetic consumption.
