FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and is intended for use as an anesthesia instrument for dental surgeries. For anesthesia, a device is used, made in the form of an arc-shaped all-metal structure for manual use, containing on one side a guide cylinder for placing a carpool syringe with an internal diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the syringe body, and in end part arc is made with transverse fixing ring. At that, fixing ring for thumb is welded on external arc bend. During anesthesia, the extraoral part of the prepared device is fixed in the region of the external surface of the condyle of the lower jaw by pressing with its thumb and middle fingers behind the fixing rings. In the oral cavity the guide cylinder is positioned at the level of the lower premolars. To perform anesthesia, the needle is moved into the soft tissues of the pterygomandibular space recess to depth of 2–3 cm to contact the internal surface of the condenontal process of the lower jaw. After that, pushing the needle back (up to 1 mm), an aspiration test is performed and an anesthetic depot is created. At the end of the procedure, the syringe is first removed from the device, then the device itself is removed from the oral cavity.
EFFECT: due to accurate penetration into the target point of the injection needle, the method enables providing the conditions for increasing the safety and effectiveness of anesthesia, eliminating the need for the dentist to memorize anatomo-topographic landmarks in the maxillofacial region, which are used in the classical method of Goy-Gates mandibular anesthesia.
