FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing zone of maximum blood vessels number available on mucous membrane to laser radiation beam action, receiving and carrying out hardware-assisted transformation by detecting polarization vector orientation and reflected radiation intensity and calculating blood substance concentration from the data. Zero polarization laser beam and wave length in bandwidth of 0.5 - 2.1 mcm are used for an irradiation. Analyzer-polarizer is preliminarily tuned in local laser radiation absorption points corresponding to substances under study in mucous tissue. Changes of reflected radiation polarization vector orientation in points of local laser radiation absorption are fixed. Polarization vector rotation angle data are used to draw conclusions concerning substance concentration.
EFFECT: high measurement accuracy; wider scope of recognizable substances.
