FIELD: processes for increasing strength of articles, possibly of different articles in aircraft building, machine engineering, machine tool manufacture and also at making tools with increased demands to their strength.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of forming on part surface strengthening layer on base of cerium containing material while using material with heavy-fermion system as cerium-containing material. In variants of invention αCe and(or) heavy-fermion compounds of cerium are used as material with heavy-fermion system. Cerium compounds with covalence degree of chemical links of atoms 0.3 - 0.7 and with dead zone 0 < ΔE < 3 EV may be used as heavy-fermion cerium compound. Or cerium compounds at least with one element of IIIA-VIA groups and (or) at least with one transition metal whose d-envelope is filled or almost filled may be used as heavy-fermion compound of cerium. After applying strengthening layer onto article, layer of crystalline material transformed under pressure to amorphous state is also applied onto article.
EFFECT: increased strength, improved resistance of articles against corrosion, oxidation and erosion.
