METHOD FOR CRYOSURGICAL TREATMENT OF HEMORRHOID Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B18/02

Abstract RU 2296528 C2

FIELD: medicine, cryosurgery.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with cryogenic destruction of hemorrhoids under in- and out-patient conditions. It is necessary to carry out multi-stage treatment at interval of about 1.5-2 mo. At every stage one should fulfill cryo-destruction of one or two largest hemorrhoids. Cryo-destruction should be fulfilled in 4 cycles of freezing-defrosting. Moreover, a hemorrhoid should be pressed with the help of two cooled applicators, internal part of hemorrhoid should be protruded, the degree of hemorrhoid pressing should be increased, applicators should be kept till the development of freezing area at capturing the bottom of hemorrhoid. In case of great volume of hemorrhoid one should apply several pairs of applicators by using the so-called "ladder-type principle" of capturing a hemorrhoid tissue. Then it is important to press in a cryo-applicator of actively cooled cryo-instrument into hemorrhoid. Simultaneously, one should withdraw hemorrhoid's internal part outwards with a cryo-instrument. Cryo-impact should be continued till capturing the hemorrhoid bottom's area with freezing area. In case of incomplete destruction of hemorrhoid bottom in 1-2 wk one should perform the additional seance of cryo-destruction. The innovation suggested provides complete capturing of hemorrhoid with damaging action of deep local freezing, accelerated freezing due to hemorrhoid compression and removal of blood out of the vessels of hemorrhoid frozen tissue the absence of damaged muscular rectal sphincter due to affecting at each stage of therapy the most protruded part of hemorrhoid and total keeping the functions of sphincter after operation.

EFFECT: improved cosmetic result.
