FIELD: specialized devices for invalid's transportation means.
SUBSTANCE: mechanism for moving of invalid's wheel chair on staircase has ramps, chains, sprockets, guides and pivot joints located on guides. Guides are equipped with cross-piece made in the form of lever for folding it in order to provide temporary fence and handrails. Sprockets are mounted on rear wheels of wheel chair. Rear wheels of wheel chair are provided with ratchet wheel adapted for cooperation with catches fitted with levers. One pair of ramps is formed immovable. Other pair of ramps is mounted on carriages movable on guides. Chains are positioned on ramps so as to cooperate with sprockets.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by enabling independent controlling of wheel chair movement along staircase by invalid himself.
