FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: proposed motor-sailing ship is provided with masts, sails, electric motor, propellers and wind force and direction sensors which are connected with drum electric motors by means of electric circuit. Masts are provided with latches engageable with microswitches. According to the first version, fixed masts have form of trapezium or bow resting on ship's sides. Masts are interconnected in upper and lower bases by means of guides. Sails are immovably secured in horizontal guides by means of rollers. Roller axles are connected with sails by means of spring-loaded rods and are interconnected together by means of ropes. Roller axles provide for automatic control of rigging consisting in moving them along ship's boundaries in horizontal direction and winding them on drum reels in case of storm and in case of wind directed to ship's bow or sides and returning the sails to initial position after storm and in case of wind directed to ship's stern for imparting concave surface to them, entrapping the wind and changing the direction of beam wind to required side in way of motion of ship for increase of her speed and enhancing efficiency of conversion of wind pressure and force to energy of ship's motion. Versions differ in devices for making up and lowering the sails and masts and devices for splitting the water.
EFFECT: ease of handling the rigging.
