FIELD: measuring technique.

SUBSTANCE: device and method can be used for measuring of at least one physical parameter of matter as moisture content and salt content due to directing microwave radiation to object and due to analyzing of reflected microwave radiation. Method includes transmission of microwave radiation through tested matter and reception of reflected signal of only pre-set polarity of transmitted waves. Properties of tested material are calculated by means of comparison of received microwave signal with reference signal inside time interval. Device for realization of the method has polarizer disposed near object and on the other side of object in relation to transmitter in such a manner that receiver could receive only cross-polarized reflected microwave radiation after it has passed through matter; co-polar reflection from surrounding objects are excluded. Object can be in motion, for example, onto conveyor tape or it can be at rest.

EFFECT: improved precision of measurement.
