FIELD: technology for producing targets for high energy physics, possible use during realization of research programs concerning high energy physics.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method for producing a cryogenic target, cryogenic target is made in form of a granule of frozen drop of cryo-agent. To that end, in first from top vacuum chamber of vertical system of vacuum chamber pressure is maintained a bit lower than triple point pressure and by means of generator of mono-dispersion drops a stream of liquid agent is divided on drops. Granules received as a result of freezing fall down and are let through a vertical system of vacuum chambers and fed into working chamber of accelerator for collision with a ray of elementary particles with following efflux of granules into cooling trap. Device contains generator of mono-dispersion drops with outlet nozzle, generator being mounted in lower section of cryostat, vertical system of vacuum chambers, accelerator and cooling trap.

EFFECT: production of solid high-speed identical granules with dimensions ranging from microns to hundreds of microns from all cryogenic liquids: hydrogen and its isotopes, nitrogen, argon, krypton, oxygen, helium, etc.
