FIELD: processes for restoring or strengthening worn surfaces of steel parts by means of electric arc surfacing, mainly parts of passenger and cargo cars of railway road rolling stock.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of electric arc surfacing of worn surface, mechanically working it, heating and gas-flame depositing wear-resistant layer onto it for further flashing coating surface. Electric arc surfacing is realized while taking into account allowance for further mechanical working performed at lowering nominal size of part. Then worked surface is subjected to activation by means of shot blasting. Gas-flame deposition is realized with use of self-fluxing powdered alloy for further flashing of applied coating by heating part till temperature 950 - 1050°C. Coating is applied for increasing nominal size of part by shrinkage value of coating after finally cooling part.
EFFECT: improved quality of restored surfaces of parts, increased fatigue strength of steel parts.
