FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for restoring necks of a steel crankshaft of internal combustion engines. In the method for restoring the necks of steel crankshafts, dismantling, washing, defect detection and grinding of a worn surface, cleaning the substrate layer from corrosion, preparation of the backing layer for deposition by shot blasting and flame spraying. Simultaneously with flame spraying, a seal is made by means of a disk of carbide material rotating along a helical line and in a direction coinciding with the direction of crankshaft rotation. After grinding, final anti-friction non-abrasive treatment is carried out by means of a disk of copper-bearing material and rotating opposite to the direction of crankshaft rotation. Flame spraying is carried out simultaneously with seal and finish anti-friction non-abrasive processing with the use of a device consisting of a disk with an electric drive, which is installed in a tool holder of a lathe-screw-cutting machine.

EFFECT: as a result, the quality of the applied coating is improved, the service life of the restored crankshafts is increased.
